Nurseries News Round-Up – Week 66

Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!

WE’RE BACK, BABIES!

The Beacon, Rendlesham

The Beacon is in full swing again – filled with lots of smiles and laughter, having welcomed back all the children and staff from their summer holidays. Long may it continue!

Welcome back, everyone!

ALL ABOUT ME!

It’s a new month and the start of a new term – and with lots of transitions within the nursery, we decided that for September we would all be looking at the topic ‘All About Me’.

Last week we were simply working on ‘ME’!

Babies used mirrors to study and explore their faces carefully before using their senses to delve into the paints and attempt to paint their features onto the mirrors. They used fine motor skills to apply googly eyes and various stickers.

Toddlers used instruments to sing favourite nursery rhymes chosen by the individual children, and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes to learn parts of their body.

They also carried out a painting activity with rolling pins, pots and bubble wrap in order to discuss their favourite colours and learn more about their peers.

Pre-School had a fun game of ‘All About Me Bingo’! They had to match the correct faces to their bingo cards, working together, and if they got a match, the nursery was filled with calls of BINGO!

FUN IN THE SUN!

Wowsers – what a hot, hot week! We made sure all the children were kept cool and hydrated whilst playing out in the garden with sun hats, sun cream and lots of water play.

They certainly didn’t seem to mind the heat!

TREADING THE BOARDS!

The Appletree, Attleborough

The Bramley Room children loved making use of our stage today in the newly extended garden!

They ran around the garden asking their friends to join their show and to come and watch. Some of us started off a little bit shy but we soon came alive and performed checkout tapestry for a cute video, too.

This was wonderful to watch – the children had so much fun in such a positive way, helping to build their confidence and social skills.
